Virginia Steel & Fabrication, Inc. is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for transporting fabricated structural steel, raw steel, and related materials to jobsites and customers.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused driver who is comfortable operating flatbed equipment and properly securing structural steel loads.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles pulling flatbed trailers
• Haul structural steel, beams, columns, plate, tubing, and other fabricated steel products
• Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other required equipment
• Inspect loads and verify securement before and during transportation
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Coordinate with shop and project personnel during loading and unloading
• Deliver materials safely and professionally to construction sites and customer locations
• Maintain required DOT logs, inspection records, and delivery documentation
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, company, and jobsite safety requirements
• Assist with tarping and load preparation when required
• Maintain assigned truck and trailer in clean, safe operating condition

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Current DOT medical card
• Acceptable motor vehicle record
• Experience operating tractor-trailer and flatbed equipment
• Structural steel, oversized load, or construction-material hauling experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of proper flatbed load securement, including chains and binders
• Ability to safely climb onto trailers and perform the physical duties associated with securing loads
• Ability to pass required drug and alcohol testing
• Dependable, professional, and safety-minded

Preferred Experience

Experience hauling structural steel, fabricated steel, beams, columns, miscellaneous metals, or other heavy construction materials is highly desirable.

RTW Industrial Specialties, Inc. is seeking experienced Traveling Specialty Orbital Welders for high-purity and hygienic process piping projects supporting the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical.

This is a specialty craft position for experienced orbital welders. Candidates must have hands-on experience with automatic orbital GTAW welding in sanitary/high-purity environments and be prepared to complete project-specific qualification testing.

Required Experience

• Automatic Orbital GTAW welding
• High-purity and/or hygienic process piping
• 316 stainless steel
• Pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, food-grade, or comparable sanitary process environments
• Tube preparation, facing, precision fit-up, and alignment
• Closed-chamber orbital weld-head setup and operation
• Purge setup, oxygen control, and contamination prevention
• Weld programs, production coupons, and weld-quality requirements
• Reading WPSs, isometrics, P&IDs, and piping drawings
• Weld documentation, weld maps, logs, and material/heat-number traceability
• Ability to meet project-specific weld qualification requirements

The applicable high-purity specification prioritizes automatic orbital GTAW and requires orbital welding operators to be qualified in accordance with ASME Section IX. 

Specialty Alloy Experience

Experience with the following materials is highly desirable:

• 316 Stainless Steel
• AL-6XN (UNS N08367)
• Alloy 22 (UNS N06022)
• Alloy 276 (UNS N10276)
• Alloy 625 (UNS N06625)

These specialty materials are specifically identified within the hygienic piping specification for high-purity applications. 

Experience with AL-6XN and high-nickel alloys is a significant plus.

Travel & Work Requirements

This is a traveling position supporting projects primarily throughout the Southeastern United States, with additional U.S. travel possible based on project needs.

Candidates should only be submitted if they possess the experience and technical proficiency necessary to successfully perform the required qualification testing.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Structural Steel Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for fabricating structural steel components in accordance with shop drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

The Structural Steel Fabricator will work with beams, columns, plates, angles, channels, and other structural steel components to measure, lay out, cut, fit, assemble, and prepare materials for welding and final production.

The ideal candidate has experience in a structural steel fabrication environment, can accurately read shop drawings and blueprints, and takes pride in producing quality work safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings, blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications.
• Lay out steel components according to drawings and required dimensions.
• Measure, mark, cut, drill, cope, grind, fit, and assemble structural steel.
• Fabricate beams, columns, braces, plates, angles, channels, and other structural components.
• Fit structural assemblies and components in preparation for welding.
• Verify dimensions, hole locations, angles, elevations, and overall fit-up before welding or final assembly.
• Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools, which may include saws, drills, grinders, torches, magnetic drills, ironworkers, and other shop machinery.
• Perform welding and tack welding when qualified and required.
• Use tape measures, squares, levels, combination squares, and other precision measuring tools.
• Identify materials and components required for individual fabrication jobs.
• Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy and conformance with shop drawings and specifications.
• Assist with material handling, staging, loading, and movement of structural steel throughout the facility.
• Work closely with welders, machine operators, supervisors, quality personnel, and other members of the production team.

• Report drawing discrepancies, material issues, equipment problems, and potential quality concerns to supervision.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, metal fabrication, or a related industrial environment preferred.

• Ability to perform basic shop mathematics, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to understand measurements, angles, tolerances, and fabrication dimensions.

Physical Requirements

This position requires work in an industrial steel fabrication environment. Employees must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
• Lift and carry materials, tools, and components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds independently and heavier materials with appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.
• Safely work around welding operations, fabrication machinery, overhead cranes, moving materials, noise, sparks, and other conditions typical of a structural steel fabrication facility.
• Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, gloves, welding protection, and other equipment as required.
